Employment Opportunities
If you really take pride in your work, and
you’re up for a new challenge, then you could become part of the
Bluestone team. You could be part of a truly unique project that
will set new standards for the tourism industry in Wales, and
showcase to the world all that’s best about Pembrokeshire.
Bluestone is a new generation holiday village,
comprising 182 luxury timber lodges set around a newly-built but
traditionally-designed village boasting restaurants, shops, a pub,
a wine bar and a superb holistic spa. There’s also the Landsker
Sports Club and our sister attraction, the amazing Blue Lagoon
waterpark.
Naturally, a project this size needs a lot of
people to keep it running smoothly. Four hundred in fact. And
that’s just for the first phase. When we add more accommodation and
the snow centre, we’ll need over 700.
Currently, Bluestone employs over 350 people,
however there are still opportunities in a variety of roles, but we
are particularly keen to hear from people interested in the
following positions: lifeguards, fitness instructors, spa
therapists, activity team leaders and assistants, and supervisors
and assistants in the food and beverage department.
Lifeguards
Blue Lagoon is an amazing waterpark, with a
wave pool, flumes, a lazy river ride, bubble pools, geysers and
interactive play areas – all in a massive upturned coracle where
it’s summer all year round.
There really is nowhere else quite like it. We
need lifeguards qualified to NPLQ standard, although Bluestone is
organising free training which will take place at Carmarthen
Leisure Centre during the second week of July.
Fitness Instructors
The Landsker Sports Club features the only
full-equipped Nautilus One fitness facility in the UK, as well as a
multi-purpose sports hall for badminton, volleyball, tennis and
soft tennis. There are also aerobics suites, snooker pool and table
tennis tables, and a range of outdoor facilities including a
five-a-side football pitch. We need Fitness Instructors and
professionals qualified to, at least, Reps Level III.
Activity Team Leaders and Assistants
Our Junior Rangers Club provides outdoor
activities for children between five and nine years old. These
activities involve exploring the woodlands surrounding Bluestone,
and learning about the plants and animals that live there, in a fun
and exciting way. The club will be run by Activity Team Leaders and
Assistants, who will need a minimum qualification of Level III in
Childcare.
Food & Beverage Supervisors and Assistants
No formal qualifications are required for
Supervisors and Assistants in Bluestone’s pub, wine bar,
restaurants, cafes and shops. We would, however, like you to have
genuine interest in quality food and drink, and you need to be
committed to providing our guests with the highest standards of
service.
Spa Therapists
Our holistic spa, The Well, is one of the
jewels in the Bluestone crown. Superbly appointed, it has a thermal
suite of saunas and steam rooms, and no fewer than 15 rooms in
which guests can enjoy treatments by leading product houses, Murad,
Terrake and Espa. The Well is a premium establishment and we need
therapists appropriately dedicated to excellence. Minimum
qualification is an NVQ Level III in Beauty Therapy of equivalent
holistic therapies.
