Castles of Pembrokeshire

 

This experience offers the opportunity to explore the most impressive monuments of the Middle Ages, you will visit some of the Castles of Wales. A most enjoyable and historical day out.

 

Llawhaden Castle and Carew Castle

You will be picked up from Bluestone at 10 am and transferred to the magnificent Llawhaden Castle, which is a 12th century earth and timber ringwork fortress, founded by Bishop Bernard.   After a look round Llawhaden Castle, you will then be transported onto Carew Castle which has a history spanning 2,000 years. Set in a stunning location, overlooking a 23 acre millpond. The site incorporates an impressive 11th century Celtic Cross, the only restored Tidal Mill in Wales, a medieval bridge and a picnic area all linked by a delightful mile round
walk. You will then have the opportunity to stop for a bite to eat at the Carew Inn (lunch to be purchased locally).

 

Pembroke Castle

After lunch you will be transported down the road to Pembroke Castle. This mighty fortress is largely intact, and its endless passages, tunnels and stairways are great fun to explore. Once the tour of the Pembroke Castle has finished you will be transported back to Bluestone arriving back at the park at approximately 4.30 pm.

 

All entrance fees to the Castles are included in the price of the package.

 

Duration: Full Day – Departing at 10 am and returning at 4.30 pm.
