Pony Trekking in The National Park
An unforgettable experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Discover Pembrokeshire in the best way possible: on horseback!
Pembrokeshire is renowned for its stunning and diverse scenery –
from the dramatic Preseli Hills to the awe inspiring cliffs and
gorgeous sandy beaches fringing the counties rolling farmland. The
best way to appreciate this beauty is to go out on
horseback, visiting parts of Pembrokeshire you will not be
able to see through the window of your car!
You will be taken to the picturesque village of Nolton Haven and
to the riding stables run by the Owen family. They have horses to
cater for riders of all abilities. There will be a riding
assessment on arrival to ensure that everyone has a great time no
one will feel frustrated or frightened. You will be taken out
by experienced staff, that are spread throughout the ride
making sure that everyone is happy on their mounts. They will be
helping you and giving tips where needed.
The ride itself is a 1.5 hour trek which will take you to
Druidstone Haven when the tide is out. This dramatic beach is just
over a mile away from the stables. It is renowned for its features
and also the ‘Telly Tubby House’ (To know what this means you will
have to come and see for yourself!) If you so wish you may even be
able to have a gallop on the shoreline – an absolutely
unforgettable experience.
When the tide is in you will be taken to a private valley. It is
a very peaceful and sheltered area where many types of wildlife
such as badgers and foxes roam free, if you’re lucky you may even
spot some peeking out at you from the undergrowth! There are many
different paths and
tracks through the valley, some of these incorporating small cross
country jumps for the
more experienced. There are of course many other routes for those
wishing to ride at a more relaxed pace.
You will then return to the stables where you will be able to
thank your horse before returning to Bluestone.
Duration: You will be transported from
Bluestone at 10am and will return at 1.30pm. The trek itself will
last for approximately 1.5 hours.
