Surfing Pembrokeshire
Do you fancy taking part in one of the coolest sports on the
planet? Then try your hand at surfing! After your day out at
Pembrokeshire’s finest surf beach you may go home a pro!!
Pembrokeshire is renowned for its great surf, with beaches
facing the Atlantic Swell on three sides it’s usually “going off”
somewhere nearby! Whether you're new to the sport or would like to
improve, TYF’s enthusiastic and experienced instructors can show
you how to stand up and ride your first wave, cutback or kick
out!!
You will be transferred from Bluestone to the TYF Centre in the
attractive city of St Davids – the smallest city in Great Britain!
Here you will meet with your surf coach before embarking on your
fun-filled day ‘riding the waves’! You will spend your day at
Whitesands Beach, one of many Blue Flag beaches in Pembrokeshire
recognised for its clean water and immaculate settings. However do
not be surprised if you’re whisked off to another beach seeking the
‘wave of the day’!
You will learn how to handle and paddle a surf board correctly,
to identify and pick suitable waves, to stand up on your board, to
understand common beach/water hazards and how to treat them,
amongst much more! Instructors will give all the help you need,
including a video camera so you can watch it back and see where you
went wrong. This footage will be put onto a DVD which you can take
home and impress your friends and family with!
Be warned…once you’ve ridden your first
wave, you’ll be hooked for life!!!
Duration: This is a full day
adventure. You will be met at Bluestone at 11am and
transferred to the TYF Centre in St Davids. Here you will be given
your safety briefing from TYF’s own qualified instructors, as well
as all the equipment you will need, before heading out on the
waves. You will then be transferred back to the TYF Centre for
departure, arriving back at Bluestone for 4pm..
Is this for me/my family? This activity
is suitable for persons aged 10 and over, and so is ideal for
families seeking a new challenge! Children aged 12 and over are
allowed unaccompanied.
This activity is suitable for most disabilities; however please
ring our friendly sales staff prior to booking for full
details.
Maximum group size: 15 persons
Departs: Year-round on either
Tuesdays or Wednesdays. This activity is subject to
availability.
Prices: £65 per person including
transfers, a surf board and leash, full “steamer” wetsuit, hot
drinks, safety equipment, and a really friendly and experienced
surf coach!
