Introduction to Fly Fishing and Falconry
A relaxing morning fly fishing in private grounds on the
picturesque and tranquil Cleddau
and falconry experience in Slebech Woods.
Fly Fishing
Introduction to Fly Fishing and Falconry is a relaxed morning on
the river Cleddau, at Blackpool Mill, where you will learn from
internationally recognised fly-fishing enthusiasts about the
equipment and the tackle required to fly-fish
successfully. During your time here with us, you will be shown
how to cast successfully, and offer a number of carefully organised
programmes best suited to your particular skills. With our discreet
help, you will be able to share a rewarding and memorable
experience!
River to River provide a unique opportunity to fish specially
selected stretches of private water on some of the finest rivers
that weave their way through the beautiful heartland of
Pembrokeshire. One of our instructors, Illtyd, is a member of
the Advanced Association of Professional Game Angling Instructors
(AAPGAI) and has represented Wales at top level competitions both
nationally and internationally along with Tony Davies himself.
Falconry
During the morning period, you will be guided into Slebech Woods
in groups of four to a magical experience hands on about Falconry.
Pembrokeshire Falconry combines the experience of flying
birds of prey with the spectacular views of the Pembrokeshire
countryside.
We will start with an introduction to the hawks and a brief
handling session to teach you the basic skills needed for this
experience. This includes how to handle the bird, how to call
it to the glove and then we will go through the woods with the
hawks flying free and following on and flying to people for
food. If you reach a high enough standard you will be able to
fly the hawk to the lure at the end of your Experience.
Duration: This will be a half day experience,
departing Bluestone at 9.30am and taking the short journey down the
road to Blackpool Mill. Coffee and biscuits will be provided and
return to Bluestone will be at 1.30pm.
