Welcome to the Bluestone Blog. Here we give you a little insight into who we are, what’s new with us, what it’s like to work at a holiday village, what’s happening on the resort, what we’re loving at the moment and much, much more. We’re open all year round, whatever the weather, so there’s always something fun and exciting going on at Bluestone – and we’re sure to be behind the scenes blogging about it!
It’s Love Your Zoo Week and to celebrate we are giving away tickets to the brilliant Manor House Wildlife Park. TV star Anna Ryder Richardson and her husband Colin have transformed this Pembrokeshire attraction into a unique zoo that specialises in close-up meetings with endangered animals from all over the world in a natural environment.
Pembroke has become the temporary home of the feature film ‘Me Before You’ which is being produced by Pinewood Studios. The film is based on the best selling book of the same name by Jojo Moyes which tells the story of a small-town girl who forms a bond with the recently paralysed man who she is caring for.
With the summer approaching quickly take our checklist of fun things to do with your children so that you will be prepared for any ‘I’m Boooored’ grumbles. Print these ideas out and put them in a jar or a pot and let your children pick one out and decided what you are going to do to recapture the fun!
You spoke and we listened. Our pet dog free zone policy will remain.
Near the east end of the ruined church at Bluestone, where the slope drops sharply away to form a large u-shaped depression, a spring of water bubbles out of the ground. From there, the water runs down through the culvert that passes the walls of the Tafarn and then into the Bluestone lake before hurrying on to join the brook flowing alongside the Nature Trail in Penglyn Woods. The stream, now much enlarged, continues on a downhill course until it meets the Eastern Cleddau near Blackpool Mill.
