BITC Award Bluestone With Big Tick For Wales
Here at Bluestone National Park Resort we’re very much committed to responsible business practices, sustainability and the environment. Last night, Thursday 16th June, we were rewarded with our efforts to date with a ‘Bick Tick’ award from Business in the Community (BITC) Wales during a ceremony in Cardiff.
Our CEO, William McNamara, received a Big Tick in the Dairy Crest Rural Action category for companies that support rural communities in Wales. The award focused on our partnership with local farming co-operative, PBE, and the biomass energy centre at our Blue Lagoon water park.
This is a great endorsement to Bluestone, our staff, the PBE co-operative and our work overall with the local community here in Pembrokeshire. But we also realise that this is very much part of a continuous effort and we have much more to do. As the saying goes: “You shouldn’t rest on your laurels.” And we certainly won’t be.
We’ve been shortlisted for the Example of Excellence title in the UK BITC awards which will be announced in July.
Stephen Howard, Chief Executive of BITC, said: “I congratulate Bluestone on achieving their Big Tick. It is a challenging time for business, but this is a sign that companies are not losing their focus and are transforming their businesses to make a positive impact on people and society and are prepared to lead by example.”
