Everyone can be tough on the sports field, but for Welsh rugby star and recently signed Bristol Rugby Club player Ryan Jones, chilling in a spa having some quality time is just as important.

Ryan is hoping his recent visit to The Well Spa Retreat here at Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire for a range of treatments will be a bit of a hint to his wife and children for a Father’s Day treat next month.

Ryan, who has signed with Bristol Rugby from the Ospreys, admits to enjoying the occasional spa treatment and says more men and dads should experience it instead of being shy about admitting to it.

And he’s not alone. The UK’s male grooming and spa market is burgeoning as more men admit to being “metrosexual”, taking care of themselves and taking time out for spa treatments.

Ryan took time out at The Well Spa Retreat at Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire in readiness for Father’s Day on Sunday, 15th June.

“We all have that hard exterior and rarely admit to needing time out to chill, particularly when we’re out playing rugby with the lads,” said Ryan who is a regular guest at Bluestone.

“But there’s time when you need to just escape and a way to chill outside the arena of sport or work, and that goes for all men. It’s an experience worth trying and having experienced it at Bluestone’s Well Spa Retreat I can vouch for how it’s great physically and mentally when it comes to chilling.”

He added: “I’m looking forward to Father’s Day in June. I’ve dropped a few hints about a little spa experience, maybe a weekend away with the family, so maybe they might take the hint.”

Ryan experienced a head and foot massage at The Well Spa Retreat, although he admitted he was intrigued by the Welsh Chocolate Wrap experience. “Perhaps that could be a Father’s Day surprise?” he said.

The Well Spa Retreat at has an exclusive partnership with spa and skincare specialist ESPA, as part of its spa weekend and midweek breaks.

The spa has exclusive sauna and steam rooms as well as an array of treatments and Caffi Mor, its very own place to relax and unwind with food and drink.
