Signs The Man In Your Life May Be Having A Midlife Crisis

A recent poll revealed that the average age for a male mid-life crisis is 45, and the phase lasts approximately one year and three months.

However, 61% of respondents felt the term ‘mid-life crisis’ was unfair and that the lifestyle overhaul was simply a conscious effort to start living for the moment - something we at Bluestone are firmly in support of!

Here’s just a couple of key indications that your hubby could be in the midst of an ‘overhaul’:

1.He pays more attention to looking good.
Maybe he’s started dressing like the 18-year-old next door? Borrowing your fake tan? Investing in expensive moisturiser?  “We have seen a rise in men coming in for skin enhancing treatments such our age-defier facials.” says The Well Spa manager, Yvonne Lavis. “It’s great! The spa isn’t just a place for women, men want to look and feel good too.”

2. He becomes a thrill-seeker
Has he started taking an interest in action-packed pursuits? Caught him looking-up skydiving on his iPad? Steep Ravine has a range of adventurous activities that he’ll love; our high ropes course set amidst towering pines 60ft above the ground is sure to quench your man’s thirst for adrenaline.

3. He’s learning a new sport
Whether he’s training for a triathlon or brushing up on his tennis ability, if your man’s trying to up his sporting prowess, Bluestone has plenty to keep his sporty side occupied. Why not get the kids to challenge Dad to an archery showdown at our Tournament Field? Or find out who has the best shot in a laser clay shoot?

4. He’s upping his cool-factor
Has he switched off his usual radio station’s cheesy tunes in favour of more hip, indie sounds? Perhaps he’s scouring eBay to find those elusive tickets to the summer’s hottest festival?  Our own summer festival kicks off in July and lasts all season, with fun, festivities and a traditional Celtic Twmpath band all adding to the party atmosphere.

5. He’s built a Man-Cave
Does he frequently disappear into the shed with a good book? Perhaps the spare room is rapidly becoming his hideaway, where football’s on the telly and his feet are firmly up? At Bluestone we think your break should be relaxing from start to finish. Why not take your man for a romantic walk on one of Pembrokeshire’s gloriously tranquil beaches? Or head down to The Tafarn Pub for a pint of Welsh Ale where you can both enjoy watching the game on our big screen.
