One of the stars of the BBC hit comedy ‘Gavin and Stacey’ is working with Pembrokeshire’s five-star Bluestone National Park Resort to provide an exclusive Pilates Retreat for guests.
Melanie Walters, who plays Stacey’s mum Gwen in the programme, is a fully trained Pilates instructor, master trainer and presenter, in addition to be being an accomplished actress.
Pilates and Bluestone go hand-in-hand, according to Melanie. Set within the relaxing confines of the tranquil Bluestone resort in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park countryside, both can help to help relax the body and mind, allowing guests to feel rejuvenated, refreshed and energised.
“The benefits you can achieve through the Pilates system of exercise are numerous,” said Melanie. “Strong core stability to help with everyday physical challenges; a supple body that breathes deeply and fully, and a mind/body co-ordination that uplifts the spirit and can ease stress,” she added.
A Pilates boot camp is to take place between Friday, 25th to Monday, 28th March, while ‘An Introduction to Pilates’ retreat is planned for Friday, 10th to Monday, 13th June.
Both retreats include 11 hours of Pilates over four days and thermal entry passes to The Well holistic spa, which includes brick and Celtic saunas, herbal and marine steam rooms, an ice pod, dry salt room, Thalassa Plunge Pool and wet jets.
The boot camp is ideal for those already familiar with Pilates, while the introduction retreat will help guests understand and fully utilise the techniques involved.
“We’re pleased to be working with Melanie, an accomplished Pilates trainer, to bring these unique retreats to Bluestone. Combined with the relaxing five-star environment and the Well Spa here at Bluestone, the Pilates courses will ensure guests are fully relaxed and rejuvenated,” said Yvonne Buckingham, Head of Marketing at Bluestone National Park Resort.
