Lantern Workshop (for all ages)
Bring your creative minds and craft working hands and create a family lantern ready for the big parade! As your excitable workshop host sets the scene, design and build your lantern with the help of the big people. But be careful!! the big ones do get a little carried away. Mums & Dads you only have to pay if you want to make your own lantern.
Bluestone Beast Hunt (for all ages)
Remember when childhood was all about catching bugs? Studying them up close and learning with your hands and eyes? Let the woods become the classroom as you learn first hand with no books or computers to distract you.
Carnival Kite Workshop (for all ages)
Join us in the crazy fun workshop where as a family we design and craft your very own kite, using all the amazing materials and colours to create it. Your imagination can run wild and once everyone's finished, we make our way to the famous Bluestone Hill. As we group at the top, string in your hand and kite in the adults you are ready for the 'Mad Kite Run' where you are ready to showcase your family design as it soars through the sky.
Samba Drumming Workshop (for all ages)
How much fun can we get into a one hour session? Come find out on this foot stomping, body shaking, drum beating Samba workshop! Bring lots of energy and smiles, but don’t worry if your lacking this workshop and your host will have loads to spare! We challenge you to come to this session and leave without a smile and a beat stuck in your head. In this mad session learn a unique drum beat that you can then join in with the parade spectacular and showcase your skills to all.
Carnival Mask Making (for all ages)
The culmination and pride of the carnival in a session for those who love to stand out, sparkle and wow! Join in with our carnival workshop and be inspired from beginning to end as you create your very own mask/ headdress ready for the parade. With a vast amount of materials to choose from and a variety of methods to implement them, with the help of your adults and the workshop leader you will create something you can wear with pride.
Tree Climbing (for ages 6+)
Tree Climbing is a fantastic outdoor activity which allows you to experience a unique perspective of your surroundings. It’s a fun pursuit and also a challenge - experience a whole range of different climbing experiences with a mix of tree, ice and rock climbing you’ll be sure to have a great sense of achievement after the climb.
Family Kayaking (for ages 12+)
What better way to spend more time together as a family than by trying something new? Kayaking can be enjoyed by everyone, young and old alike, and spending time as a family surrounded by the calming atmosphere and beauty of the water is an experience not to be missed.
Coracle Racing (for ages 6+)
Have you mastered Kayaking? Or do you just fancy a little bit of a challenge?Then why not try your hand at the entertaining Coracle Racing! After a bit of one on one attention and guidance as a group you will be ready for the lake. Tackle the Coracles and be viewed as a hero in the family!
Raft Wars (for ages 6+)
Those afraid of a challenge, worried about getting their hair wet and not interested in fun look away now. Divided up into teams you will be given an allowance (plastic money) to bid on lots you need to construct your raft, so as a team you must think carefully about what you need. The race begins and so does the chaos as you battle your way across the lake and back avoiding sabotage and mischief, the first one back and raft unpacked is crowned Legends of the Lake.
Hawk Walk
Experience a falconry session in Slebech Woods. You will be guided through the woods to a magical hands-on experience of falconry, combining flying birds of prey with the spectacular views of the Pembrokeshire countryside
Scuba Diving (for ages 8 years +)
Love swimming but fancy trying something new? How about scuba diving at the Blue Lagoon waterpark? Learn or develop your scuba diving skills with a two-hour session led by trained instructors who'll introduce you to the equipment, techniques and skills needed. You'll be taken through every stage of safety and an understanding of what can be achieved and enjoyed once your proficient at scuba diving as a result of the two-hour lesson held within the safe confines of the Blue Lagoon's very own pool.
Hidden Secrets History Walk
Step back in time to discover the secrets of Bluestone's amazing history. Visit the healing well where Pagan Celts and medieval pilgrims worshipped and learn about the links with the murder of one English king and the overthrow of another, where an ancient treasure was discovered and how Bluestone's 13th century church was involved in a scandal that rocked 19th century Pembrokeshire.
