Pembrokeshire holidays

Well, you’ve got to feel for the rest of the UK: nobody else has a coastal National Park. We’re very proud of ours, which takes in 186 miles of spectacular scenery and is conveniently punctuated by pubs, cafés and picnic spots. From the craggy north to the gentler southern slopes, the land meets the sea and obliges us with dozens of excellent beaches. Inland, the Cleddau Waterway makes its secretive way through woodlands, meanders past churches and joins the sea at Milford Haven’s great harbour. Why not seek out your own perfect picnic spot?

The county is also home to numerous nature reserves, providing opportunities for wildlife watching or just a peaceful stroll. Our handful of off-shore islands are well worth a day trip too: great for birders (Skomer and Skokholm accommodate significant populations of puffins and manx shearwaters), divers and anyone who enjoys a breath of sea air to blow away the cobwebs. There’s always a chance to spot porpoises, sunfish and even basking sharks too.

With beautiful beaches, superb local produce (a lot of which finds its way into our on-site restaurant menus) and even a foreign language in case you still don’t quite feel like you’re on holiday without leaving the UK, this little corner of Wales has a lot to offer. Did we mention the castles, the watersports, the climbing and horseriding...?

So why negotiate airport queues, ash clouds and your carbon-conscience when you can potter down (or across, or possibly even up) to lovely Pembrokeshire?
