The village is the beating heart of Bluestone. Nestled into the hillside, with cottages, studio apartments, shops, restaurants, wine store, information centre and leisure facilities. Great care and attention has been paid to architectural detail, scale and lighting, to create an atmosphere of a vibrant community village. Unlike most of our villages today it is secluded and traffic free.

Cycling is an ideal way to get to the village, and bicycles are available for hire so you needn’t bring your own. Of course, children needn’t miss out on the pedalling fun. Children’s bikes are available for hire, as are ‘tag-a-longs’ for smaller children and trailers for toddlers. For the less energetic, why not hire an electric buggy to make your way around Bluestone.

Good service, good beer, and good food are the order of the day, every day.

A village isn’t really a village without a pub. Ours is called the Tafarn. It’s a relaxed kind of place, with no pretence, no gimmickry or ‘theme pub’ nonsense. You’ll be welcomed by friendly staff and, in the depths of winter, a roaring log fire. As with all good pubs we have regular quiz nights and live music to while away the hours.

What a choice!

Food is one of the great pleasures in life. A fine meal can be the highpoint of a holiday. An exquisite dish and a glass or two of good wine in comfortable surroundings and a welcoming atmosphere can truly be an occasion to savour and remember. Sometimes, however, you don’t want anything grand. Sometimes you just want good traditional food such as our cracking sunday lunches or our hearty breakfasts. Sometimes you want to dress for dinner. Sometimes you don’t. We understand this, and that’s why at Bluestone there’s somewhere to suit all tastes and appetites.

Located above the Tafarn, Carreg Las is Bluestone’s finest restaurant. Here we aim to provide an exceptional dining experience, using the best seasonal local produce like organic Pembrokeshire beef and lamb, local rare breed pork and locally landed sea bream, complimented with a fine wine or two.
The Yard is home to The Granary and The Smithy. The restaurants have tailored menus and specialities. The Granary specialises in pizzas, and it also does a fine line in pasta. While at The Smithy, steaks, chicken, kebabs and much more, are cooked to sizzling perfection right before your eyes.

Pop in for some locally-sourced bacon & eggs or that bucket & spade you forgot to pack.

At Bluestone we love food and want you to enjoy shopping for it. We’ve taken our cues from the past. It’s not about ‘one size fits all’ convenience at all costs. It’s about individual shops that focus on what they’re best at, and don’t try to carry every product you could ever need and a whole lot more you don’t.

Pop into the bakery for a loaf. Sip a coffee at the café. 
Nip into the market for some local bangers or some fresh veg. Newspapers, books, gifts and clothing are readily available. For us, it’s all about the quality of our produce and products. This is shopping as it used to be and surely as it was meant to be.

Dargavel’s Wine Store is a well stocked off-license situated in the Bluestone village. Whether you are looking for wine, beer or spirits; we have a fantastic range of local ales, whiskeys and lots more. Alongside our range of tipples we have a superb array of chocolates, cheeses and gifts and there is always a bottle open to taste.
