Pembrokeshire's Rhydian Runs Out With The Scarlets
Seven-year-old Cresselly youngster Rhydian Eynon couldn’t believe his luck when he became the official match mascot for the Scarlets – thanks to the Blue Lagoon water park at Bluestone National Park Resort near Narberth.
Rhydian spent the day with the Scarlets in Llanelli, meeting the team and running on to the pitch with the team before the match.
He won a competition on Bluestone’s Facebook page after saying he was one of the Scarlets biggest fans,
“It was a great day and really enjoyed meeting everyone. It was a dream come true,” said Rhydian.
He told the Blue Lagoon in his entry: “I think I should be mascot as I'm the only Scarlets supporter in my house as they like the Ospreys, but I'm a super Scarlets supporter. My mum takes me to all the home games and I came to Blue Lagoon to see Rhys Priestland and his team-mates when they were there in February.”
Yvonne Buckingham, Head of Marketing at Bluestone, said: “We’re really pleased Rhydian enjoyed his ‘free range’ fun as a mascot with the Scarlets. We’re looking forward to seeing the Scarlets at the Blue Lagoon again soon and we’re sure Rhydian will be there too.”
