The Well Spa therapists are bambootiful

A group of spa therapists from The Well Spa Retreat at Bluestone National Park Resort completed a course in Bamboo Massage.

The ten therapists were awarded their certificates on Tuesday (30 September) by Gabrielle Slater of HB Training, Haverfordwest who led the girls through the two-day course earlier this month.

The unique treatment, which is only offered at a handful of salons and spas in the area, involves using heated sticks of bamboo in varying lengths and widths to massage the body for a relaxing and therapeutic experience. The Bamboo Massage will be incorporated into the holistic, bespoke treatments which are tailored to meet the individual needs of each guest.

“It’s always fun to learn new treatments - Bamboo Massage is unlike anything I’ve done before. I was surprised at how deep the treatment it is without the therapist needing to use a lot of pressure,” says Samantha Hewer, one of the therapists who took the course.

The Well Spa Retreat, located in the village at Bluestone National Park Resort, offers a wide range of treatments to guests tailored to their individual needs, from facials to massages to body wraps.

“Our therapists here at The Well Spa Retreat are an extremely dedicated and hard-working bunch. They’re always keen to learn new skills wherever possible and so jumped at the chance to try Bamboo Massage,” adds Yvonne Lavis, Manager at The Well Spa Retreat.
