what's on
Spring is undoubtedly one of the best seasons to enjoy
Pembrokeshire, with vibrant colours of spring flowers, newborn
lambs and a wealth of unique wildlife across our nature
reserves.
Being located within a National Park you can enjoy ancient
woodlands, meadows, a lake and nature trail without even leaving
site.
In spring, Pembrokeshire's hedgerows come alive with the colour
of wildflowers. Find primroses and snowdrops in our woodland that
will give way to bluebells, foxgloves and red campion.
Late April and May sees the Bluebells flower. Thousands of
glorious blue flowers carpet our woodland floor and dozens of other
locations around the county, including the nature reserve Skomer
Island, accompanied by the arrival of puffins.
Bluestone's nesting boxes have been up since last summer,
fingers crossed they will be good homes for nesting birds this
spring!
Spring Highlights:
The puffins arrive at Skomer. Even if you are not a twitcher,
Skomer Island can only be described as a delight to visit in
Spring. Not only are the curious and cute puffins on the
island, there are a whole host of sea birds making their home on
Skomer at this time of year, nestling down beneath a carpet of
Bluebells. Skomer is an absolute treat.
Enjoy a ramble through our beautiful ancient woodlands to soak
up the colours, sounds and smells of spring.
Take an exhilarating hike up to the ancient and mysterious
Preseli Hills before coming back to warm up in front of the cosy
Tafarn roaring fire.
