A first time guide to a holiday at Bluestone

By Kathryn Slade Bluestone 620

Whether you have booked your first Bluestone holiday or are still deciding on when to come, here’s a quick guide to what you can expect during your break in Pembrokeshire.

Our arrivals team will be waiting for you, you’ll need your reservation number, name of the lead book and address.

Your arrivals pack will have everything you need to get you started:

• Lodge Keycards

• Resort Map

• Blue Lagoon Tickets

• Car Hanger

• Our Village Voice magazine which is full of helpful hints and tips

You’ll need to display your car hanger at all times during your stay, so simply hook it over your rear view mirror. If you’ve arrived before your check in time you are welcome to use the facilities until your lodge is ready!

Lake view

Your Blue Lagoon tickets will give your complimentary access to the Water Park so why not head there to take a dip? Resort guests get exclusive use of the pool between 9am and noon, but you can use the facilities for free until it closes. Also included in your break is use of the indoor Adventure Centre, you might want to head here to release some pent up energy from the car journey!

There’s a mini golf course, play area, soft play and lots more to keep the family entertained. Or you could always head to Tŷ Coffi in the Village for a bite to eat, while you familiarise yourself with your surroundings!

When it’s time to check in you will be able to drive down to your accommodation to unpack your things. As you will already know Bluestone is a car free resort so please return your vehicle to the Long Stay Car Park when you are finished.

Blue Lagoon

If you’ve booked bikes or a buggy for your stay, then you can collect them from 2pm on your arrival day. The team head home at 7pm so be sure to be there before then. It’s located just next to the Long Stay Car Park so you won’t have to go far. If you are planning on getting your step count up during your break then the resort is perfect for you, there are 500 acres to explore including trails and ancient woodland.

Remember our Land Train will be there for you, should your feet get tired. You can hitch a ride from any of the stops around the resort between 8:45am to 7:45pm. It departs from the Blue Lagoon, on the hour and at half past, arriving in the village 15 minutes later. The driver takes a break for lunch for half an hour at 1:15pm.

When it comes to booking extra activities for your stay, head to the Booking Office in the village or the Adventure Centre. You can also log into "Manage Your Booking" using the Bluestone website to add extras. You’ll notice as our guest you get free access to our Bluestone WiFi service, you don’t need a password, so simply select it in your settings and start surfing the web for places that you might want to visit. If you want the local lowdown or want to upgrade to our premium service which is perfect for streaming then ask a member of the team who will be happy to help!

Go Wild!

Being Welsh, food is very important to us; hearty portions, homemade and local produce are all priorities and are traditions that we stick to at the resort. If you want to stock up the fridge when you arrive, head to Newton Stores in the village where you’ll find all you need for your stay! If you are dining out then you have a choice of restaurants, the Oak tree where you’ll find Pizza and Pasta dishes; the Knights Tafarn for traditional pub grub; The Wild Wood Cafe perfect for refuelling after fun at the Adventure Centre; Camp Smokey for Al Fresco dining with a difference, or you can grab a takeaway from The Chippy! If you fancy a taste of the Farmhouse Grill call in to the Booking Office to make your reservation.

The Chippy

As they say, all good things must come to an end but before you leave you can always book to come back again! If you choose to rebook during your stay you’ll save £50, you can do this at the Booking Office or via Manage my Booking. When it’s time to head back home, please remember that your check out time is 10am. You can collect your car before this and drive it to your accommodation to pack up your belongings and memories of your Bluestone break.

Dylan Play Park

You are more than welcome to have one last swim around the lazy river, or spend the last hours of your holiday relaxing in our Well Spa, but we understand if long goodbyes just make things harder. If you could pop your key cards and car hangers into the box by the last barrier then we would be very grateful, we can recycle them for future guests and, who knows, maybe you’ll be reunited on your next visit!

With lodges and activities to suit all families you’ll be spoilt for choice, so discover your perfect Bluestone break today.
