Bluestone Employee Jamie Everall makes second donation to the Little Princess Trust

By Kathryn Slade Jamie and Sammi 620

Two years after donating 15 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust, Jamie Everall has braved the scissors again.

Jamie, who works on the reception desk of Bluestone’s Well Spa, was motivated to make her donation after reading about the charity online and enlisted the support of Samantha Hewer - the Well Spa’s manager and trained hairdresser - to help her to make it happen.

The Little Princess Trust is an organisation which provides real hair wigs to children undergoing chemotherapy, as well as those experiencing other hair loss conditions such as the auto-immune condition Alopecia Areata.

“I first read about The Little Princess Trust around 3 years ago now and I really wanted to be able to help. I spent a year growing my hair and then in May 2016 I was able to send off a 15 inch plait to be made into wigs.” Jamie explained.

“It was a really proud moment and I instantly knew that I wanted to be able to do it again. Just over two years later and I’m ready to donate another 12 inches of hair which will again be used to make these brilliant wigs for such a great cause.”

Jamie’s hair will undoubtedly be a huge help to the work of the Little Princess Trust. Since the creation of the charity in 2006, they have provided more than 1,200 children throughout the UK and Ireland with bespoke, high quality wigs, and continue to campaign for more volunteers to emulate Jamie’s efforts and donate their hair or time to the cause.

Bluestone’s Well Spa Manager, Samantha Hewer said: “All of us at Bluestone are really proud of Jamie’s efforts for The Little Princess Trust. Jamie’s hair is so thick it took over a minute to cut the plait away so they might even be able to make more than one beautiful wig from it. It was a pleasure to be able to help her to make her first donation in 2016 and again this year.”

Jamie’s efforts aren’t stopping there either; she is also working hard to raise over £350 to cover the cost of creating the special wig.
