Bonfire night at Bluestone in 2018

Bonfire night is one of the most spectacular nights of the year - and here at Bluestone we’re planning an unforgettable evening of fireworks and celebration.

Bluestone being Bluestone, we’re planning of doing things a little bit differently - and we’re ready to reveal our explosive plans.

Instead of a traditional bonfire night, we’ll be planning a very Welsh celebration instead - the burning of the Bwbach on Sunday, November 4th.

A huge fire will float in the middle of our beautiful lake with spectacular flames reflecting from the water and into the autumn night sky.

The magical scene will end with fireworks over the lake to mark the end of our Bwbach Festival, which takes place throughout autumn.

The Bwbach Parade puppet scarecrow

Before the burning of the Bwbach, make sure you join in with our Bwbach Parade - led by our magnificent 11ft puppet scarecrow through the resort and finishing at the lake, where you can expect a wonderful family atmosphere and plenty of entertainment.

If you’re lucky enough to have taken part in our workshops - make sure you bring your jingle sticks and crafts with you and join the parade drummers as they march through Bluestone.

If you’re not with us on November 4th, the parade takes place every Thursday and Sunday during Bwbach, which starts on September 3rd. Apart from on November 4th, it will usually finish in the village, where a a festival feel takes over with live music, sing-a-longs, pumpkin games and pop-up surprises.

Scarecrow fishing at Bluestone

From September 3rd to November 4th there’s lots of fun planned during our annual Bwbach Festival, when Bluestone fills with scarecrows, surprises and a serving of spookiness.

The season culminates with the awe-inspiring burning of the Bwbach on November 4th but in the meantime there’s lots going on as the leaves change colour and the resort takes on magical feel.

Here’s some of what you can expect this autumn:

The (Not So Scary) Scarecrow Dinner Show

Scarecrow Dinner Show

A loveable scarecrow has been left all alone in the forest and his greatest wish is to one day make a friend. Book in for this heartwarming interactive dinner show and watch your children experience a story of love and friendship as our lonely scarecrow meets a feathered friend and has some fun with the pumpkin people.

Crafty workshops

Bluestone crafts

We have three different workshops where the little ones can get creative this autumn - corn doll making, Bwbach baskets and pumpkin lanterns. You will learn new skills and work with natural  materials like clay, sticks, moss, leaves, pine cones and other wonders found in the forest.

If you take part in the Bwbach Basket workshop, you’ll have the perfect way of carrying autumn treats to show off in the Bwbach parade. And the pumpkin lanterns are boo-tiful for lighting up the parade!

Pumpkin Racers

With four wheels, your personalised pumpkin and a steep slope, your pumpkin racer is ready for the Bwbach grand prix! Whether you make it to the finish line or you’re squashed on the way, we’re sure to seed out the best racers by the end.
Halloween Spooktacular

Come experience the Adventure after hours in the Halloween Spooktacular where your little monsters can explore our spooky stations including our glitter tattoo parlour, spooky salon, monster makeover and the magic mirror - as well as the soft play and terror towers.

Camp Smokey

Camp Smokey

Always a favourite - Camp Smokey’s famous shindigs are brilliant fun in the middle of the autumn forest. In the heart of our Steep Ravine you’ll find our wooden camp with Smokey Joe serving up delicious food, live music and dancing on the tables! Warm up with a hot chocolate and make memories as you toast marshmallows around the open fire - a fun-filled family adventure that’ll be a highlight of your Bluestone break.

Autumn adventures

Steep Ravine Sky Wire

As well as Camp Smokey the Steep Ravine is home to a multitude of thrill-seeking activities including our pulse-racing Sky Wire, the High Wires course, tree climbing and more. Guaranteed fun and thrills in the middle of our ancient forest.

Indoor adventures

Inside the Adventure Centre

If it’s a bit too chilly outside, then our year-round tropical waterpark the Blue Lagoon will get you splashing around - or clown around at the Adventure Centre where there’s endless activities under one roof including soft play, daring challenges and assault courses.
