Broad Haven For Kayaking and Paddle Boarding
By Kathryn Slade
Broad Haven is a village and seaside resort 16 miles away from Bluestone.
The large west-facing beach has been awarded a Blue Flag meaning it is family friendly and safe for swimmers. The beach is great place for kayaking and paddle boarding and is perfect for beginners!

Haven Sports is a family owned and run surf shop on the sea front. They offer hire on paddleboards, kayaks, body boards, surfboards and wetsuits so you will be ready for the water. The surf shop is ideally located by the car park on the south end of the beach (by the slip way) so you only have to cross the road and you are on the golden sand!

Next to the surf shop there is also a beach shop and a tasty fish and chip shop! If you fancy something else the Galleon Inn has a great beer garden for enjoying the sunshine whilst you eat and enjoy the view. There is also The Ocean Café, Bar and Restaurant with beautiful panoramic views of the beach and free car parking at the rear for customers.
If you want to make a picnic to eat on the beach then there is a well-stocked Londis, which even has a Post Office so you can send a postcard to your family and friends!
You will need change for the car park but is very reasonable at £3.50 for the day and there are public toilets situated in the car park.
Broad Haven is the perfect place for a day out!
