Bwbach Toffee Apples

Our Bwbach Festival is now in full swing and we’d love for you to join in the fun! If you’re not with us on resort, you can still trick or “treat” yourself to a taste of Bwbach with our delicious Bwbach Toffee Apples!

Here’s what you’ll need: 

  • Greaseproof paper
  • Wooden skewers 
  • Sugar thermometer
  • Tea towel 
  • A pan 
  • A jug

Ingredients: 

  • 8 Large apples
  • 400g Golden caster sugar
  • 4 tbsp Golden Syrup 
  • 1tsp Vinegar
  • Hundreds and thousands 
  • 100ml Water

Method: 

  1. Place the apples into a large pan and cover in boiling water. Allow the apples to soak for a couple of minutes to remove the waxy coating.  
  2. Using a clean tea towel, dry the apples and twist to remove the stalks. 
  3. Push a skewer into the centre of each apple and then place them to one side. 
  4. In the pan, boil 100ml of fresh water and add the sugar.  
  5. Allow the sugar to dissolve before adding the syrup and vinegar. Heat the mixture until it reaches 150C. 
  6. Holding the skewers, dip the apples into the toffee mixture, twisting the skewer to ensure each apple is evenly coated. 
  7. Before the toffee sets, sprinkle the apples with hundreds and thousands to decorate. 
  8. Place the apples on the greaseproof paper and allow them to cool and set. 
  9. Enjoy your Bwbach Toffee Apples!
