February Half Term 2019 activities and things to do

Child in the forest at Bluestone

The first school holiday of 2019 is right around the corner and frankly we think it’s just about time you took a break!

February Half Term is the perfect time to dust off the cobwebs, shake off the winter rust and make some memories on an unforgettable family holiday.

Whether you want to roam free on our resort, explore Pembrokeshire’s natural beauty at its rugged winter best or take some time out from modern life at our spa - we’ve got the perfect getaway to cater for all your family’s needs.

Here’s a few of the activities we’ve got lined up for your February Half Term visit.

Camp Smokey

Camp Smokey

It’s back! One of Bluestone’s most popular destinations, rustic woodland diner Camp Smokey reopens for 2019 after a short hibernation in the deep midwinter.

The Camp Smokey crew will be back with a bang, warming you up with a delicious meal cooked in the middle of the forest while you toast smores over the fire and enjoy a fun-filled evening.

The children can pan for gold (and take their own home) while the live music will have you dancing on the tables and stomping your feet for a night you’ll never forget!

Once Upon a Time at Bluestone

Once Upon a Time Dinner Show

A new family dinner show created especially for 2019, Once Upon a Time at Bluestone is a thrilling twist on the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Tuck into a hearty meal while you’re entertained by the story of how a humble lad named Jack sold his beloved cows for a handful of magic beans. You’ll journey into the clouds, meet a rather large giant and discover a trove of treasure!

There are laughs, songs and surprises as an enthralling adventure unfolds when Jack ventures into a world filled with magic and wonder.

Spear Throwing

Tournament Field Activities

Looking to blow out the cobwebs and embrace a bit of competitive adventure? Then try your hand at Spear Throwing on the Tournament Field - new for 2019 starting on February 9th. Learn to wield the spear like a true hunter, take aim at the targets and unleash your inner warrior.

If you get a taste for the Tournament Field then why not try your hand at Axe Throwing and Archery as well?

Winter Lights

Winter Lights 2019

Our Winter Lights festival illuminates our resort until March 28th so there’s plenty of time to enjoy this year’s magical after dark adventure and all the activities that come with it.

Follow our Enchanted Trail through the ancient forest as the Illume light show makes the trees glow on the interactive woodland path with wandering wizards, glowing snake goddesses and the fascinating Pixie village.

The Merlin Light Show takes place in the Village every evening and there are three Winter Lights workshops to get crafty at including Winter Lantern making, Glow Mask making and creating your very own Dream Light in our Enchanted Workshop.

Don’t forget to join our wizard for the Merlin Dinner Show and at the end of your break bring your workshop creations to the Winter Lights festival. An 11ft Merlin will lead a parade from the Adventure Centre to the Village for a night of fun, games and surprises.

Nature Art

Nature art at Bluestone

Nature Art is a favourite among four to seven-year-olds and has had a special revamp for 2019. It’s now three hours long, meaning your little adventurers have even longer to have a go at fun crafts, activities and woodland adventures. There’s also now a stop for a picnic in the woods. Because there should always be time for a picnic in the woods!

Indoor activities

Inside the Adventure Centre

Whatever the weather, Bluestone has you covered. The Adventure Centre brings the thrills and spills of the outdoors, indoors.

Expect daredevil activities such as the Sky Trail and the Wall plus plenty for the little ones including soft play and the Circus Zone. There’s even a Baby Sensory and Messy Play sessions so there’s no chance of anyone even thinking about looking at a screen.

Our Mini Adventurers Breaks include unlimited use of the Adventure Centre and the Circus Zone. While the children have a roaring good time you might even spot a chance for some sanctuary in the Wildwood Café.

Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon at Bluestone

Our subtropical swimming pool is warm all year round and perfect for splashing about in on a chilly day. Guests can visit the Blue Lagoon as much as they like during their stay. So fly down the fumes, waft around the lazy river and ride the waves to your heart’s content!

Adventure in the great outdoors

Steep Ravine Sky Wire

The cool crisp Pembrokeshire air is perfect for embracing the spirit of Bluestone in February and there’s no better place for starting your half term adventure than the Steep Ravine.

Challenge yourself on the High Ropes, whizz along the Sky Wires, and take on the family as a Woodland Warrior.

Beyond Bluestone there’s the rolling countryside and breathtaking coastline of Pembrokeshire to explore with no end of activities to experience together. Take the time to sample our world class beaches at a very special time of year or spot puffins and dolphins on a trip to one our legendary islands.
