How to make a Bwbach Balloon Monster

By Kristina Gore Bwbach Parade

Our Bwbach Festival is now in full swing and we’d love for you to join in the fun! To get everyone into the “spirit” of things, we’re sharing our crafty Bwbach Hacks for you to try at home. Happy crafting and don’t forget to share your Bwbach creations once you’re done!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A balloon
  • Corn flour
  • Wool
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • A funnel

Top Tip - If you don’t have a plastic funnel, try making one by carefully removing the bottom of a plastic bottle.

Let’s get started:

1. Start by stretching your balloon out as much as possible. Blow it up a few times and then let it deflate. This will reduce the elasticity and make it easier to add the flour.

2. Use the funnel to fill the balloon with corn flour. Only fill the base of the balloon, leaving the neck of the balloon empty so that it can be tied.

3. Once the base of the balloon is full, tie the neck of the balloon tightly.

4. Take the wool and cut 6 - 7 strands.

5. Tie the strands of wool around the balloon, just underneath the knot.

6. Use the scissors to trim the wool and create the hairstyle of your choice.

7. Attach the googly eyes to create a face.
