Our Top 5 Christmas Movie Moments

By Megan Tapper Elf Christmas Tree

It’s officially the 1st December! That means there’s no shame in playing the Christmas tunes loud, rocking a festive jumper with pride and chomping mince pies like there’s no tomorrow.

Here in the office we’ve been swaying to the dulcet tones of Cliff Richard, bopping along to Slade and belting out Band Aid! We’ve also took great delight in discussing our favourite festive films. I never fail to get choked up watching The Snowman – it’s 26 minutes of Christmas perfection!

Here are our top 5 Christmas Movie Moments:

5. Andrew Wright our Graphics Designer: “You can’t beat a black and white classic like ‘It’s a Wonderful life’! Remember, every time a bell rings an angel get his wings.”

4. Emma Smith, our Resort Marketing Officer: “My favourite film is a Muppet Christmas Carol. It always makes me smile when Scrooge learns the error of his ways and walks through the town singing ‘I will hold you close in a thankful heart’ – so sweet!”

3. Carla Roberts, our Training Co-ordinator: “Miracle on 34th Street always makes me smile at Christmas. My fave part is probably when everyone is stood outside the court because they believe in Father Christmas!”

2. Hannah Fleming, our Sales and Reservations Executive: “It’s got to be Home Alone. Gets me feeling all festive and definitely makes me want to go to New York at Christmas – I’d better get saving!”

1.  Jenny Tanner, our Sales and reservations Supervisor: “The ultimate Christmas film for me is Elf! I love it when Buddy screams “SANTAAA! OH MY GOD! SANTA'S COMING! I KNOW HIM! I KNOW HIM!”

What are your favourite Christmas films? Have we missed out any real crackers? Let us know!

There’s nothing better than walking around Bluestone on a crisp, winter’s day. And we’ve had a few of those this past week, making it very festive. In the meantime, we asked our resident historian, Terry John, to put finger to keyboard for a festive blog post
