Pembrokeshire hotter than Portugal

If you thought you had to get on a plane to enjoy blissful summer days, think again because a beach paradise is right on your doorstep.

With its clear blue waters and with beaches regularly named among the best in the world, Pembrokeshire on the South Wales coast has looked more like some far-flung tropical island this summer than somewhere in the UK.

If you do venture abroad you could well find yourself longing for the beaches of home as – unlikely as it is – the U.K. has been hotter than some of the most popular holidays destinations over the last few weeks.

Like the rest of the country, Pembrokeshire has been enjoying beautiful sunny weather and after a record-breaking May Bank Holiday, last week the mercury hit 30C.

On Monday, Pembrokeshire was a full 4C hotter than Portugal’s capital city Lisbon, which reached just 22C.

The good news is it’s set to continue.

According to the Met Office, the sunny weather will continue throughout July and August, so will you be skipping the hassle of the airport and venturing down to Wales?

All signs should point to ‘yes’ as Pembrokeshire is sitting under a high pressure system that has been building over the last week that continues to deliver beautiful warm weather.

And, if you’re going to book a break, there’s nowhere better than Bluestone. With West Wales’ biggest Water Park on-site and beautiful beaches just a short drive away – there’s no better way to cool down this summer.

This weather is also perfect for exploring the beautiful British countryside and with the UK’s only Coastal National Park found in Pembrokeshire, you’re spoilt for choice. Whether it’s the ancient Preseli Mountains to the 186-miles of breathtaking coastline, or one of our 11 Blue Flag beaches – there’s endless opportunities for adventure.

What really makes Bluestone a unique holiday destination is that you don’t even have to leave the resort for fun in the sun. We offer copious amount of activities from Zip Wires and High Ropes to our newest activities Axe Throwing and Stand-up Paddleboarding to keep children and adults alike entertained.

Bluestone is set in 500 acres of national park and we have a variety of nature trails where you can get to know our beautiful wildlife and the natural environment. Your little ones could even join our bluestone rangers for an unforgettable adventure.
