Romantic autumn breaks at Bluestone

Couple on bikes

Bluestone is the perfect romantic autumn getaway - escape to beautiful Pembrokeshire for an September or October break and enjoy walks, delicious dining and tranquil relaxation at our luxury Well Spa.

Whether you are a couple looking for a quiet holiday in secluded surroundings or parents looking to grab some alone time while the kids forage in the forest, you can be assured of getting your cosy fix at our luxury resort.

Here’s seven reasons why Bluestone makes the perfect romantic autumn break.

Romantic rambles and autumn walks

Autumn leaves

Visit us in September and October and our nature trails and woodland walks will be surrounded by ancient trees going through their annual kaleidoscope of colour change, putting on one of the most jaw-dropping displays of natural beauty in the UK.

With 500 acres to explore the sound of leaves crunching underfoot, the feel of crisp Pembrokeshire air and the sight of bright stars pockmarking the dark skies will never get old. Warm up in front of the fire at the Knight’s Tafarn or plan your stroll around a trip to Camp Smokey, where you can dine under the stars while a sizzling meal is prepared on an open fire.

Relax in the Well Spa

The ultimate indulgence, our award-winning Well Spa will see your troubles fade into the vapours of our themed thermal rooms. Enjoy each other’s company in a couple’s room, with tailored treatments to unwind together with. Let the hum of the outside world disappear for a few hours and emerge refreshed and ready to explore.

Sample the harvest

We pride ourselves on using local food and drink suppliers at Bluestone, so you can be guaranteed only the finest Pembrokeshire meat, fish and vegetables - in season and elevated by the autumn harvest. Try the Oak Tree restaurant and eat by candlelight, with a selection of fine wines and mouthwatering dishes.

Retreat to your cosy cottage

They’re our luxury lovenests - our one bedroom cottages are found in the hubbub of the Village - perfect for couples who will have close use of the restaurants and facilities while still being able to get a quiet night’s rest.

Enjoys the views

The rugged, raw Pembrokeshire coastline is home to some of the UK’s most stunning of vistas. Take in the breathtaking scenery together before retiring to the Tafarn when you return to Bluestone to warm up. We recommend a visit to the cliffs of St Govan, to see the tiny chapel built into rock at the bottom. Try counting the steps up and back again - according to local folklore it's never the same number.

Try something new

Whether it’s flying through the tree canopy on our Sky Wire course or power boating out to sea - there’s a plethora of thrill-seeking experiences ready for you to try for the first time at Bluestone. Have a browse of our things to do and Pembrokeshire sections or ask one of our staff when you arrive (they’re all locals, so they know their stuff). And if you need to destress there’s always our new axe throwing activity!

Visit Bosherton

 Bosherton Lily Ponds

Down the road in Bosherston (about a 25-minute drive from Bluestone) you’ll find the village's famous lily ponds - beautiful still water flanked by woodland that’s rich in wildlife all year round. The highlight is the impossibly picturesque and Instagrammable Eight Arched Bridge and the grassy hill that has views over the sea without a road or building in sight. It’s not unusual to happen across the odd proposal at this most romantic of spots… just a suggestion ;)

Tempted? You should be. Find out more about our romantic breaks for couples and we hope to see you at Bluestone this September and October.
