Summer 2017 at Bluestone

Summer is finally coming around and we’re welcoming it back with open arms. What does summertime at Bluestone mean for you and your family? Is it waking up to sunshine and birdsong, taking the little ones for a swim at the Blue Lagoon then dining out at the WildWood Café? Or is it enjoying the views of Camp Smokey from above as you zip across the Steep Ravine, before slipping off to the Well Spa to enjoy a rejuvenating treatment and soaking up the sun’s rays next to the hydrotherapy pool.

This summer at Bluestone we have our own Summer Festival, a new range of themed activities, new menus for our restaurants and three new shows, all to help you build ever lasting memories with your family and friends throughout the warmer months.

Green Man

When you visit Bluestone this summer you’ll be greeted with a great surprise, this year we are celebrating the return of summer with our Summer festival! During the festival period you and your little ones will have many different and exciting workshops to choose from to fill your days with fun. These will range from creating musical instruments to decorating your own parade masks, all using branches, leaves and other very natural materials for your free range creations.

Green Man

Our Green Man dinner show is sure to have the whole family singing, dancing and clapping along as you join Ash the forest ranger and Leaf in their exciting adventure to save the Green Man from the mischievous forest nymph Element. The show includes a mighty feast for the family to ensure you leave well fed and well entertained!

After the Green Man dinner show on Thursday and Sunday evenings everyone is welcome and encouraged to join our Green Man parade. Whether it’s your Woody Wild Mask, a Jingle stick or your very own leaf banner, bring along all you have made during your stay and be part of the fun. Our Samba band will lead the march to the village accompanied by our 11 foot tall Green Man!

During your stay here at Bluestone you may find yourself suddenly part of an activity you were not expecting. Don’t worry! This is just one of our ‘Pop-Up’ events that will be happening throughout summer in the village. All of these are free and the times will be shown on the notice board in the village. In these workshops you could be making anything from a banner to a musical instrument which you can use in our summer festival parade.

Steep Ravine

Summer wouldn’t be complete at Bluestone without zipping through the trees of the Steep Ravine, with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair on our High Ropes course. If you’d rather something less physically challenging but still want adrenalin fuelled fun then our Sky Wires are sure to thrill!

Village Play Area

The new play area in the village has been very warmly received by the children who have ran, jumped, climbed and swung on our village play area, new to 2017. With climbing frames, swings and see-saws galore your little ones are going to love spending the sunny evenings in heart of the village.

Dinner Shows

Here at Bluestone we know our guests love a dinner show and so do we! That’s why this year we have three new dinner shows for you to enjoy. The Hayley Bale dinner show is a finger-licking feast filled with farmhouse fun! Join Hayley Bale and Sunny the Scarecrow for an interactive dinner show where your little ones will learn the importance of where our food comes from and will be encouraged to try something new whilst taking on the “Crunch-o-metre” challenge.

Enter the Ranger Tree house and see our brand new Bluestone Ranger live show hosted by Ranger Z and Dash the Reindeer. Experience some of Pembrokeshire’s oldest Myths and Legends with special guests, dancing, games, sing-a-longs, wacky experiments and amazing prizes, but watch out because you too might become a part of the show!

Set in the Wildwood restaurant, experience a culinary cabaret like no other, our new Black Bart dinner show combines foot stomping pirate fun with great food. Hosted by Black Bart himself, the greatest Pembrokeshire Pirate, decorate your Pirate Place M-Hat and take sides with Bones or Scully battling it out in a swashbuckling interactive dinner show.  Between games of real life Pop-up Pirate and Treasure Hunting, competing in Shanty sing-a-longs for your supper, you’re sure to be entertained!

Camp Smokey

Camp Smokey truly is the jewel of our ancient woodland and the home of free range fun. Nestled at the bottom of the Steep Ravine, encompassed by the brook, Camp Smokey’s picturesque scenery brings a new meaning to ‘dining out’. Under the summer sun Camp Smokey bursts into life. Surrounded by lush greenery, rich in wildlife and with friends and family zipping over you, there really is no place like it to enjoy our fresh locally sourced food, cooked to perfection.
