Things To Do In May Half Term

outside of lodge

As the last school holiday before the long summer break and with exhausted kids and parents ready for a break – the May Half Term is the perfect time to pack your bags and head to Bluestone for a family adventure. We’ve got lots going on during the break, so why not join us for a week to remember?

1. Knights of Arkley Final Week

We’ve loved welcoming the fantastic Knights of Arkley to the resort as part of the Myths and Legends Festival this year and the half term break is the last chance to enjoy their heroic antics, before the Summer Festival takes over.

Knights of Arkley Myths and legends

The real-life heroes will be joining us on both Sundays and the Thursday for battles on the tournament field and fun on the village green and all guests are welcome to join in the medieval fun. Their final appearance will be on Sunday, June 2nd and we can’t wait for the grand finale of the festival, when we’ll be saying a very fond farewell!

2. NoFit State Circus Presents Lexicon

The circus is coming to stay!

During half term the incredible NoFit State Circus will be pitching their big top tent in the grounds of Bluestone ready for three weeks of incredible shows. What will be their only UK performances this year of acclaimed show - LEXICON, it promises to be a fascinating, awe-inspiring spectacle that will plunge you into a world of magic, laughter and lightness.

Tickets can be purchased on the NoFit State Box Office website or call 02921 321 021 and is available to non staying guests too.

3. Make a Splash

The Lake activities are back for 2019 and the May Half Term is a great time to dive in and make a real splash!

Every session is accompanied by experienced instructors who will make you feel safe and confident out on the water and more importantly, help you enjoy it! You never know, you could discover you’re a master paddler.

Remember that during half term, the Blue Lagoon waterpark will also be open until 9pm every night, giving you more time to enjoy the wave machine, lazy river and spa pool.

4. Beautiful Bluebells

As spring transforms to summer the woodlands around Bluestone bloom with beautiful bluebells, a beautiful sight to appreciate on a walk through our ancient forest. Wander along the nature trail, appreciate the pretty flowers, that can only be found at this time of year, and enjoy being in the heart of nature. That’s not all you can see! As the seasons change, there’s a chance to spot new wildlife around the resort including butterflies, amphibians and birds.

5. Soak Up The Sunshine

We have our fingers crossed for magical May sunshine and if we’re right, it will be perfect beach weather. Take advantage of the sunny season by visiting the Blue Lagoon or head further afield. We all know how busy the summer months can get, so May is a great time to visit the beaches of Pembrokeshire and enjoy family time without the crowds.

With Blue Flag beaches boasting breath-taking scenery just a short drive from the resort, Bluestone’s the ideal base to explore Pembrokeshire and all the coastal National Park has to offer. Last year temperatures rivalled the Mediterranean, so avoid the stress of airport queues, visa head-aches and long-haul flights by staying right here in the UK.
