Winter Wellness with the Well Spa

There’s a chill in the air, the wind is nipping at your nose and the heaters are set on cosy and warm.

While the winter months are great for that cuddled up feeling, the chill can leave our skin and hair stripped of moisture and feeling worse for wear.

We visited our guest exclusive Well Spa Retreat at Bluestone to find out what we can do to help ourselves as the weather gets colder.

Top Winter Wellness Tips:

1. Starting with the simplest one... remember your moisturiser.

We recommend exfoliating gently during your shower to help get rid of any dry flaky skin, then be sure to apply your moisturiser while your skin is still warm to get the best results!

2. Compensate for lost moisture in the home.

Having the heating on is great for the snuggly feeling, but it’s not so good for your skin as it takes away lots of the moisture out of the air. Why not try placing bowls filled with water around your house to compensate for this!

3. Use a nourishing lip balm.

Be sure to take care of your lips as it’s easy for them to get chapped at this time of year, leaving them feeling sore.

Try using a toothbrush to gently relieve dry lips by gently exfoliating them and then apply a good quality lip balm.

At the Well Spa we recommend Neal’s Yard Bee Lovely Busy Bee which is available in our retail area. It provides a delightful nourishing blend of organic cocoa butter and beeswax which are perfect for dry lips!

4. It might sound silly but don’t neglect your SPF!

The sun can be damaging no matter the season so remember to add some into your daily beauty regime.

5. Remember to take care of your hair.

We love ESPA’s Pink Hair and Scalp Mud which is also available in our retail store. It’s intensely nourishing for dry hair and helps to smooth and soothe the scalp too. What more could you ask for!

6. If your skin is feeling especially dry then try an overnight miracle fix!

We love ESPA’s Overnight Hydration Therapy Mask which works hard while you sleep to leave your skin transformed and glowing by morning.

7. Condition your nails.

To keep your nails in tip top shape during the winter months when they can often feel dry and brittle try regularly massaging them with CND’s Solar Oil. It helps to condition your nails and will help them stay strong if you plan to have a festive manicure!
