Blue Lagoon Helps Radio Withybush

The radio station at Withybush Hospital has been kept afloat thanks to support from Pembrokeshire’s premier water park.

Having broadcast to patients, visitors and staff since the hospital opened in 1978, Radio Withybush faced an uncertain future when its previous major sponsor pulled out earlier this year.

But into the breach stepped Blue Lagoon. Pembrokeshire’s water park is now sponsoring Radio Withybush, enabling the station to continue broadcasting for at least another year.

Blue Lagoon marketing executive Chris Emery said: “Radio Withybush provides an invaluable service for the people of Pembrokeshire, and we’re delighted to be able to keep it on air.”

Andrew Jenkins, chairman of Radio Withybush, said: “We are very grateful for the support of Blue Lagoon. The sponsorship will ensure we meet the essential costs payable to Ofcom, who licence the station which Broadcasts on 87.7FM and Channel 1 around Withybush Hospital.”

Andrew added: “Radio Withybush is always looking for new presenters and committee members to help run the hospital radio station. If you are interested please contact 01437 773564 or email”
