Bluestone National Park Resort named Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year

Bluestone National Park Resort has been named Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year for 2019. The accolade was revealed at the Swansea Bay Business Awards on Friday (22nd February 2019) when Sales and Marketing Manager - Glenn Hewer - and his team collected the award on behalf of Bluestone’s CEO William McNamara.

It’s the second time the resort has been awarded the title in the last three years, and the prize is given to a business that is specifically involved in tourism or the hospitality industry and can demonstrate how it has increased visitor numbers and contributed to marketing the popularity of the region as a destination for holidays, short breaks or business events.

“This is a great accolade for Bluestone, and for our amazing team who work hard every day of the year to ensure the continued success of the business,” said William McNamara.

“We welcome over 150,000 staying guests to the resort every year, and for over a third of these, it’s their first visit to Pembrokeshire. We understand that our team is the key to making Bluestone a special place for all who visit so to cement this commitment we gave 30% of the business to the staff last year. All members of staff are invited to join the Employee Benefit Trust in line with the Share Incentive Plan after completing a year’s service and we believe this is a first in the UK leisure industry; it was a proud day for our business”.

William added: “We know our guests are attracted to the spectacular countryside and beautiful beaches, and we’re proud to be their hosts as they explore all that Pembrokeshire and the West of Wales have to offer.

Over 200 people attended the Swansea Bay Business Awards at the Brangwyn Hall, which was organised by the Reach Events.

Bluestone, which employs over 750 people at its resort near Narberth, has a mix of lodges, cottages, and studio apartments situated in 500 acres of countryside and positioned around a private village and spa.
