Solva Coast Walk
Solva is a pretty little village that sits in the middle of eight miles of unspoiled coastline.
This walk will take you up to the Gribin, which is a rocky headland overlooking Solva, and a climb to the top of it will reward you with stunning views across St Bride’s Bay.
Solva Harbour is a sheltered tidal harbour, now popular with small boat owners. It’s well worth trying in some time exploring Solva and pottering around the little shops and galleries and maybe stopping for refreshment in one of the super pubs that dot the harbour.

This walk starts at the Solva Harbour car park.
1. Start in the car park and cross the footbridge at the back with the harbour on the right-hand side.
2. Turn left and then right and follow the path up the Gribin, over the tunnel.
3. The route will eventually take you past some lime kilns, where limestone would have been heated to create quicklime for putting onto fields to make whitewash.
4. Continue on the path up to Gribin Point, with some fantastic views of the coastline. There’s an Iron Age fort on the Gribin.
5. Follow the coast path down the steep side of the Gribin to reach the Gwadn. This pebble beach and the valley behind it were created by meltwater at the end of the last Ice Age.
6. Follow the path up the valley behind the beach, across some stepping stones across the stream, before climbing steeply over the ridge behind the sewage works, leading back down to Solva through the woods.
