Things to know before you arrive

Our subtropical Blue Lagoon, is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with no pre-booking required for guests. Opening times may vary during peak season. Read on to find everything you need to know before your visit, including details about facilities, age/height restrictions and our supervision policy.

*Please note: Water slides operate at limited times on Mondays (09:00pm – 1:00pm) & Fridays (1:00pm – 5:00pm).

To help you decide when to swim, we've outlined our busiest and quietest periods:

9:00am - 10:00am - medium / steady flowing queue

10:00am -1:00pm - high capacity / busy / queues expected

1:00pm - 4:00pm - intermediate / queues expected

4:00pm - close - medium / steady flowing queue

Facilities and accessibility

Changing rooms & showers: We have standard and family changing rooms, along with showers to rinse off before and after your swim, plus hairdryers for your convenience.
Lockers: Lockers are available to keep your belongings safe, and require a £1 coin or trolley token.
Accessible facilities: We have 2 accessible changing rooms - one with a bed. A hoist is also available - guests must bring their own sling. 2 aqua chairs are also available on request at reception.
Food & drink: While we don’t have a café, we sell soft drinks, ice cream, and crisps at reception, plus a water filling station. Food and drink are allowed poolside, but no glass bottles, containers, or alcohol are permitted. You can also visit The Wave, shop for swimwear, goggles, and accessories.

Do I need to book to visit the Blue Lagoon?

No advance booking is needed for general swimming. Blue Lagoon access is included in your Bluestone stay. Simply visit during opening hours. Separate swimming activities may require booking.

What are the opening times?

The Blue Lagoon is normally open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Hours may vary seasonally, and individual attractions can have different operating times. Check the latest guest information before visiting.

Is entry included in my stay?

Yes. General swimming at the Blue Lagoon Water Park is included for all guests staying at Bluestone, with unlimited access throughout your stay.

What’s inside the Blue Lagoon?

Discover a wave pool, four flumes, a lazy river, spa pools and Nippers Cove for younger children. You’ll also find swimming essentials and accessories at The Wave shop.

Are there activities or entertainment available?

Yes. Activities include Bubbles Swimming and Merschool, with seasonal entertainment such as Pirates of the Blue Lagoon. Check what’s available during your break, including any charges, booking requirements and age restrictions.

Are there changing rooms and showers?

Yes. Standard and family changing rooms, showers and hairdryers are available.

Is the Blue Lagoon accessible?

Accessible changing rooms, a hoist and aqua chairs are available. Guests using the hoist must bring their own sling. Speak to reception about equipment and support for your visit.

Do children need swim nappies?

Swim nappies must be worn by babies and toddlers aged three and under. They are available free of charge from Blue Lagoon reception.

Is food and drink available?

Light refreshments are sold at reception. Food and drink are permitted poolside, but glass containers and alcohol are not allowed.

Are there lockers available?

Yes. Bring a £1 coin or trolley token to use a locker; it is returned after use.

Is there a quiet time or calmer session?

Sunflower Hour runs daily from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, offering a calmer swimming environment.

Can I leave and re-enter the water park?

Yes. Unlimited access is included in your stay, so you can return for another swim during opening hours. Entry remains subject to capacity and the Blue Lagoon’s admission and supervision rules.

Are there height restrictions for the flumes?

Guests must be at least 1.1 metres tall to use the flumes. Children under eight using the Wild Water Slide must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

What is the temperature of the pool?

The main pool is maintained at approximately 30°C, with the baby and activity pools slightly warmer at approximately 31°C.

What is the adult-to-child supervision ratio?

Supervision requirements depend on your child’s age:

· Ages 0–3: One adult aged 18 or over per child, in the water at all times.

· Ages 4–7: One adult aged 18 or over per two children, in the water at all times. Children must wear the red wristband provided.

· Ages 8–11: An adult aged 18 or over must remain within the facility at all times, provided the children can swim.

· Ages 12+: Adult supervision is not required. Guests swim at their own risk.

If your family group does not fit these requirements, speak to reception about the alternative supervision policy before swimming.
