Bluestone named Employer of the Year at Wales HR Awards 2018
Pembrokeshire-based family holiday park Bluestone Resorts Ltd has been named Employer of the Year at the 2018 Wales HR Awards, which recognises and celebrates the achievements of HR professionals across Wales. Launched in 2017, the Awards ceremony is the flagship event of the Wales HR Network, a leading professional thought sharing and networking group created and run by Cardiff-based commercial law firm Darwin Gray and Acorn, Wales’ leading recruitment specialist.
Hosted by the BBC’s Sian Lloyd, the Awards recognise the best HR professionals at all levels, from apprentices to directors, and organisations as a whole across various industry sectors in Wales – showcasing the commitment, hard work and achievements of individuals and teams within the HR profession over the last 12 months.
Debbie Rainbow, Director of Human Resources and Health & Safety said,“We at Bluestone genuinely believe that investing in our people and creating the conditions that enable them to thrive is the key to our success. HR can sometimes be viewed simply as a function of a business, but for us HR sits at the heart of it, and we would like to thank the HR Network Wales for shining a light on the profession. We were delighted to have been selected as Employer of the Year 2018 which follows on from the achievement of HR Team of the Year last year. We have a fantastic workforce and we really do believe that “Every Person Counts”.
Darwin Gray’s Head of Employment Law and HR Fflur Jones said: “It’s clear that Bluestone really does stand by its philosophy that ‘Every Person Counts’, which can be seen by the fantastic investment that they make in their employees. They go further with their approach and aim to make a real, positive difference to the local community.
“We can all testify that HR is a not an easy profession and isn’t known for being glamorous. However, it is a profession full of dedicated individuals and teams who work hard and quietly achieve great things. It has been wonderful to bring some acknowledgement and celebration into HR, shining a spotlight on the hard work and dedication that often goes on behind the scenes.”
Director of Operations for South Wales at Acorn Recruitment Maria Larcombe added: “Bluestone have achieved some fantastic things through their employees and are a deserving winner of Employer of the Year. It’s been absolutely fantastic to see so many excellent HR professionals come together to showcase the talent within HR in Wales.
“Once again, it’s been a pleasure to host the awards alongside Darwin Gray as partners of the Wales HR Network and I’m looking forward to seeing what our winners and the profession as a whole can achieve in Wales over the coming months.”
