Shane Coaches His Way Into Christmas With a Thumbs Up For Kingdom of the Elves

By Owain Betts Welsh Rugby Star Shane Williams at Kingdom of the Elves

Former Wales and Ospreys winger Shane Williams might have retired from playing rugby, but has he got his eyes on a new elf team?

Shane, who announced in November that he’s to retire from playing rugby to focus on coaching, took his family to see the annual festive fun at Bluestone National Park Resort’s Kingdom of the Elves, near Narberth in Pembrokeshire.

“It was a great experience and I’m sure the elves have some rugby talent hidden away there, although I think I’d have my hands full. I’ll stick to working with rugby players on a pitch,” said Shane.

He made 91 appearances for Wales before leaving international rugby in 2011 and moved to Japan to extend his career after leaving the Ospreys in 2012.

Last month he revealed he was hanging up his playing boot completely, to focus on the coaching element.

“It’s great to get way to Bluestone with the family after the past season, especially now I’m changing direction in my career. Kingdom of the Elves was great fun for us all and a really festive way into Christmas,” he said.
